Download:

[www.datatex.co.za -> SUPPORT -> LOGON -> onyxplus]

Onyx Plus install file contains:
OnyxPlus 1.0.0.0 or newer
Firebird
Smartworks drivers
Setup files

Setup.exe
To install Onyx Plus, you will need the setup.exe file.
To make sure that you have the correct file, you can
right click on the file and go to properties. Go to
the Version tab and make sure that Description is
Onyx plus installation.

First install the cards and connect the cables to the
lines or extensions.

Run the Setup.exe program and follow the instructions.
Onyx Plus should be installed with the defaults at all
times except if instructed otherwise by a Datatex
employee. ALSO SEE: ONYXPLUS Card solution: default ini files

There are 5 steps that have to be completed before the
configuration can start.

Installing Onyx Plus programs
Firebird database
Drivers for smartworks recording cards
Setup of database
Installation of services
After all these steps, you must restart the server to
finalize the installation. Whenever a change is made
on the system, a restart must take place for the changes
to take effect.

Open the Onyx Plus Configuration program. This can be found
on the Desktop, Windows quick launch or the programs section
if you click on the Start button.

Configuration
Click on the Load Settings button to start the configuration.
Go to the Channels tab. On the left-hand side of the
screen you can configure the boards that you are using
to record. There will be a dropdown box with all the available
boards on the system. Select the board that you want to use
and make sure that the enabled option is selected.

In the list on the left side, the board will appear and show
which channels it supports. Select the board and move your
attention to the right side of the screen. There is a list box
at the bottom right that has all the possible channels that
can be configured on this board. Select a channel and add
it by clicking on the Add Channel button. The channel
will be added to the list of channels and defaulted to enabled.
If you click on the channel in the list, the options can be
changed to the right of it.

Option on the channel configuration:
Enabled - If not checked, the channel will display but will
not record.
VOX - This is for recording radios.
Extension side - If this is checked, the SMDR data will be
mapped to the extension. If this is not checked, the line number
will be used for the mapping.
AGC - This option will enable 'Automatic gain control' on the
channel. This should fix problems where the one side of the recording
is softer than the other.
Channel Trunk/Extension - This is the line number of the channel
if it is not set to extension side recording. The line number
should be entered if this is a line recording.

Incorrect channels can be deleted by clicking on the channel to
select it and then clicking on the Delete Channel button.

When all your channels are configured, click on the Save
button and restart the server to finalize the changes.
