How do I re-index a damaged ONYXPlus database?

Required:

Backup and restore script for ONYXPlus.
backuprestoreONYXplus.rar

Request the password via forum post.

Steps:

While re-index is taking place the database must not be accessed.

  • Stop the ONYX_Sweeper service.
  • You can make a backup copy of your ONYX database in the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\ONYX'. Do a normal Windows copy and paste it to a backup folder, with for example the backup followed by date as the folder name.
  • Note that if the scipt has been run before, there will already be a 'ONYX-000.fdb' in the ONYX folder. Please move to your backup folder, else you do not have a recent backup of the ONYX database.
  • Unrar and save the attached '.txt' to '.bat' file on the ONYXPlus server.
  • Run the backup and restore on the ONYXPlus server.
  • It will give progress updates while running the script.
  • Once done, it will give a message to press any key to exit the Window. If any errors it wil be displayed before this message. Please make notes of this or take screenshot to report to Datatex.
  • When done and successfull, start the ONYX_Sweeper service.
