To check if AMETHYST can see the Windows Share, rather use the 'Available Disk Space' option - refer to post: How do I check disk space available on AMETHYST server?

If it list the Windows Share, please do an unscheduled archive. On the AMETHYST Webadmin Home page select the 'Archive now' link. It will show progress as it is doing the archiving.

  1. First it will make a backup of the database on the database drive.
  2. Then it will copy the backup to the archive location.
  3. Thereafter it will start copying the recordings to the archive location.

The time it takes to do these steps depends on the size of the database, system resources and volume of recordings to archive.

NOTE: auto archive takes place each night at 21h00. If the unscheduled archive is still busy at that time, it will stop the unscheduled archive and start the auto archive at 21h00. It will start archiving the recordings where the previous archiving stopped, but it will first do the backup of the database again.

To get an indication of how long archiving takes, you can check in the admin log for the last successfull archive. The auto archive starts at 21h00 each night.

If any errors in the admin log, please post so that we can investigate.
