Supervisor playback not working when using Chrome

Google Chrome is phasing out support for NPAPI plugins, starting with disabling them by default in Chrome Version 42 (effective as of April 15, 2015).

This in turn affects the playback feature on Supervisor


Please follow these instructions to fix the playback feature on Supervisor when using Google Chrome

  1. Firstly log out of the Supervisor session but do not close the browser.
  2. In the browser address bar type in chrome://flags/ and enter
  3. This page will show a few options. Find the following option:
    Enable NPAPI Mac, Windows
    Enables the use of NPAPI plugins. #enable-npapi
    Enable

  4. Change the highlighted "Enable" to "Disable" by clicking on the link once
  5. Immediately after you Disabled the setting the browser will prompt an option to "Relaunch" Google Chrome. Select this option.
    Your changes will take effect the next time you relaunch Google Chrome.

  6. After the browser has relaunched you may now log back into supervisor and the option to playback will be available again
#NOTE: This option will only be available on Chrome till the end of September 2015.
