Supervisors cannot send emails

We have been having an issue since last week where supervisors cannot send emails. The whole system seems stable and when they try to send an email there is no error. The email does not seem to go out at all. It has stopped for all users. I've checked the "Configure Mail/SMS Settings" and they are all as they should be nothing has changed.
Is there anything you can recommend me to check?
