Postby John Richard Procter » Mon Jan 14, 2013 4:21 pm

  • Create a folder in a Windows which you want to have shared on your network.

  • E.g. A folder on the desktop TSP

    Windows share.PNG

  • Select share this folder and the name you want others to see.

  • Select the permissions of the folder

    Perm.PNG
  • By default the everyone user has access to view the files but not write.

  • If you want the Share to be written to by anyone give the user full control.

  • To have a secure share select a user on the domain and remove the everyone user.

  • Also add the permissions under the folder security tab and give user the required access.

  • To test the share location

  • Windows key + R to run followed by the IP address and location of the shared folder

    Location.PNG

  • The share folder will be opened.

    TSP.PNG

  • If connecting from another user without access to the share.
    The following message will appear

    Access 2.PNG
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
