Critical error: PACKET PROCESSOR FAILED TO REWRITE RTP FILE

Postby John Richard Procter » Thu May 12, 2011 10:10 pm

Examples of cause for the critical e-mail:

  1. It's a bug in AMTMitelCRE versions 1.6.3.3, 1.6.3.4 and 1.6.3.5.

Version 1..6.3.2 does not have this bug.

The problem is that the CRE thinks it should upload a recording to Amethyst via the network, and since it's on the same machine as Amethyst, it is not correctly configured to upload recordings. When the upload fails, it loses a file handle resource. There are approx. 1000 file handle resources available to use.

The bug has a chance of happening every 10 minutes if a recording has finished within the last 10 seconds or so. It doesn't happen for every recording since the Sweeper is processing recordings every 10 seconds, and uploads are only attempted every 10 minutes if the last upload attempt failed. No recordings are lost during this period because the Sweeper processes them after they fail to upload.

When all the file handle resources are used, the CRE can no longer write recordings to disk. It took approx. 12 days to reach this point.

  2. Version [1.6.4.9] with dailer integration.

That error means "Is a directory", so it looks like the CRE tried to open a path without a filename.

Enable verbose logging for AMTMitelCRE to see:
How do I enable verbose logging for AMTCards/AMTMitelCRE?

NOTE: Do not let verbose logging run for to long a period as it uses up space.
