--------------------- CRITICAL ERRORS START HERE ---------------------

2012-02-23 10:50:21 2012-02-23 11:15:39 CURRENT MEMORY USAGE(81%) ON CARDSERVER(GEM) EXCEEDS THRESHOLD(80%).
---------------------- CRITICAL ERRORS END HERE ----------------------

This is a Critical Warning:
The critical warninig serves as notification that at the time of the warning the AMETHYST
server was using X% of memory. We only send out the notification if usage is over 80%.

  • If the warning is repeated, it points to an error that does not resolve.
This must be investigated and/or reported to our Support Department.

Log into the Cardserver and check under Task Manager which process is using the memory/cpu:

    • We have had cases where a virus caused the memory issue. Please install anti-virus / spyware software on the PC and schedule it to scan outside recording hours.

Also see "Microsoft Security Essentials" section in forum post "Windows 7 Cardservers":
      Windows 7 Cardservers

    • The Windows "svchost" process can also cause memory usage and the only option is a restart. If you restart please schedule outside recording hours.

  • If the warning is not repeated, then the memory usage is normal again - under 80%.
The idea is to make you aware of the memory usage on the server.

Please Note: If the warning is sent frequently, you can look at upgrading the memory on the server. However, if you only receive one warning and it is not repeated (normally on an hourly basis), the usage on the server has dropped to under 80% again.
