Details on the above factors and why they can cause a slow search:
- The Hardware on the Server side needs to be sufficient to handle the amount of stations being recorded.
- The amount of calls that are processed per hour will also have an impact on the performance of the server.
- The system runs most efficiently on a 100 MBit or faster network. If the network infrastructure does not meet these specifications, a degradation in search speed will be the result.
- The Supervisor computers need to have at least 100 MBit connections to ensure that the searching can function efficiently.
- Reducing the number of agents that a Supervisor has access to will ensure that the server will only retrieve and send the information related to the agents to the specific Supervisor who may access their call records. Try to limit the Supervisors only to the agents that they are required to monitor.
- Any Supervisor that has full access to all agents should check their search criteria to ensure that they have more efficient searches.
- Using the 'Search Any' button in Supervisor - The server will search through the entire AMETHYST database on every field (e.g. date & time, extension, number dialed, etc.) trying to find any match to the search criteria entered in the search fields.
In other words, this search will take much longer than searches done for specific information. - Next to the search any button their is a button with the wording 'REC'. You can use this to enter the recording reference number and it will search the entire database for just the recording reference.
- Using the normal searching facility and "Exact Match" the searches will be much faster. Try to use specific information when searching for recordings. The more details entered, the faster the search will be.
- When a search was done, on the Supervisor it will display how long it took and the number of entries found - see screenshot below:
