AMETHYST and setup for e-mail

Requirements for AMETHYST and mail feature:

  1. SMTP Mail server

Configuration:


To test if configured correct:

Click on the test button.
Check if you receive the mail.
If not check the admin log file for clues, see examples below.

AMTWebAdmin.log:

[2011-07-28 21:10:56] Version [1.6.3.18]Email, error setting up IdSMTP : Connect timed out.

This error points to a problem with the mail settings - verify your IP,port, etc. with your mailservice provider. AMETHYST will simply use the settings provided to send the e-mail to.

[2011-07-28 11:11:01] Version [1.6.3.18]Email, error setting up IdSMTP : 5..7.1 Client was not authenticated

The SMTP (mail) server is not allowing it to send the error notification e-mail.
Make sure that the administrators can receive the critical error notification e-mails.
Check SMTP mail server settings.


[2011-07-28 00:00:07] Version [1.6.3.18]Email, error setting up IdSMTP : Non-authoritative response (try again or check DNS setup).
