How to install the AMTPCCLIENT

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:26 am

This is step for step instructions, please follow the steps in this order.

1. Make sure that your soundcard supports stereo on your LINE-IN.
Do this by double clicking on the speaker on the bottom right next
to the time. Click on 'options' and then 'properties'. Click the
recording radio button and then OK. Make sure that the bar above the
LINE-IN can move left and right. If it cannot, your soundcard needs
a driver update. If it does support stereo select the LINE-IN as your
recording device and push up the volume on the LINE-IN to maximum.

2. Plug in the transformer and set it on 12V and centre positive
(VERY IMPORTANT). Insert the transformer plug into teletap and
the handset (RJ9).The stereo cable has a red and white plug, the
red goes into red and the white goes into black. The other end
of the stereo cable plugs into your LINE-IN of your
soundcard (the blue plug). The short cable between the teletap
and the phone base MUST be the cream cable that was supplied.

3. Copy the AMTPCCLIENT and the ini file provided into the SLVR
directory [C:\Program Files\Datatex\SLVR\].
Open the ini file [C:\Program Files\Datatex\SLVR\AMTPCClient.ini].
Change the 'Extension' field to the correct extension.
Make sure that 'Record_type' is 0. The 'ServerIP' must be
the name or IP of the PC where the amethyst server is running.
Save the ini file and close it.

4. Open the AMTPCCLIENT by double clicking on it [C:\Program Files\
Datatex\SLVR\AMTPCCLient.exe]. You will see a red bar that
moves at the bottom if there is sound. Pickup the phone and
see if the bar moves. If not please double check the
first 3 steps.

5. Make a recording and listen to it via the supervisor.
If the recording is to loud you can go back to step one and
take the volume on the LINE-IN down a BIT. Do not lower the
volume and then INCREASE it. This will not work. If you want
to increase the volume again, close the AMTPCCLIENT,
increase the volume and reopen it.If the recording was not
to loud, but the one person was a bit louder than the other
one, you can go back to step one and move the horizontal bar
a little bit at a time. If the recording is soft and you are
using a headset, please try a handset and see if that does not
make a difference

6. Everything should be working now, Thank you.
