To backup my AMETHYST archive, which file types does it use?

If you need to have an off site backup of my AMETHYST archives. You will need to include the Archive Location from Amethyst and allow the following file types:

  • .GSC (encrypted recordings)
  • .png (screen shots)
  • .log
  • .amt (log files in an Amethyst update format)
  • .enc* (amt.fdb.enc-1, amt.fdb.enc-2, Encrypted database files)
  • .bak ('config.bak', backup of configuration files)
NOTE: Make a copy of the archive using the same folder structure as on the archive drive/location. You can then access the recordings on your backup using the program AMTListen.

The Network Share will be on your network and it can be included in the standard backup procedures.

The USB archive drive is connected physically to the AMETHYST server and you do not have access to it over the network. You will need to disconnect the drive and re-connect to a PC with access to your backup software to make your backup. NOTE: re-connect the USB archive drive to AMETHYST before 21h00, since this is when auto archiving takes place.
