I have the Supervisor login page, but cannot log in

Postby Belinda Frick » Wed Feb 29, 2012 10:37 am

You can check the supervisor logs in the Amethyst Webadmin. Ensure that there are no errors in the log; if there are no errors, you can try and reset the supervisor's password.
If there are errors, please check the Datatex Forums for a more detailed post related to the errors and also try and stop the Supervisor interface and then start it again on the Webadmin.

Here is a list of more detailed steps:

  • Make sure you are using the correct login and password.

If you cannot remember the password, you can reset it. You will need webadmin access:

  • I am using AMETHYST Supervisor 1.6.3.23 and I cannot log in. When I stop and start the Supervisor from AMETHYST webadmin, I can log in again.

This bug was fixed in Amethyst Supervisor 1.6.4.3:
BUG FIXED: UUID creation code replaced since the old code was leaking file descriptors on Ubuntu. After approximately 1000 logins, this problem would cause the Supervisor to stop working correctly.

Solution: Please upgrade your Supervisor to 1.6.4.

See forum post: I want to upgrade to AMETHYST Supervisor 1.6.4.5 or newer

  • If you cannot log into after stop/start of Supervisor, check the Supervisor log files for today. It could be a database issue, etc.

    Supervisor log entries:
    • Unable to complete network request to host "localhost".

      Code: Select all
[2012-05-18 08:59:02]  Version [1.6.3.23]Error in connect to database2 : Unable to complete network request to host "localhost".
      Failed to establish a connection.
      [2012-05-18 08:59:02]  Version [1.6.3.23]Error in SSL webserver: EIdSocketError: Socket Error # 107
      Socket is not connected.

You will need to contact Datatex for remote support. This could be a database error and needs to be investigated. Or the database engine may require a stop/start.
