When the MiTAI connection is broken the AmtMitel application generates an error messages "LOST COMMS". On an Amethyst server, this will generate a Critical error notification. It will also send another notification when the communication is reestablished.
The communication can be lost for many reasons, but the most common reasons are:
- Network between the AmtMitel application and the Mitel is down.
- Mitel PBX is rebooted.
Many mitel systems are configured to reboot automatically once a week or once a month. This error will be generated at that time.

The Second message regarding the hours not connected is generated if the connection is not established within a couple of minutes. There was a bug in versions prior to 1.6.4.23 that could generate this message at the same time the connection was lost.
