Why do I get an License overrun?

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:33 am

A license overrun should only happen if the number of recorded devices
exceeds the number of licenses available.

Please note that once you stop using a device it will only clear from the
device list after 30 days. Licensing is based on the physical device.

You can configure AMETHYST to only record on specific physical extensions
by adding them to the "Inclusive Rules". This means only recordings made
on these physical devices will be accepted (even if you use a virtual
extension login - provided virtual extension setup is in place). All other
physical extension is then excluded.

Alternatively you can use the number of license to limit the recordings
made. For example if you have 10 licenses and no extension is listed
under inclusive rules, then the first 10 physical devices calls are
received on will be your 10 recorded devices. If you stop using one and
go to a 11th device, it will be rejected because you are already using
your 10 licenses.

You also have an option to exclude extension from being recorded under
"exclusive Rules". No recordings will be excepted for these extensions.
For example if you have 10 license, but 13 extensions you can simple
enter the 3 extension not to record under "exclusive rules".

The devices listed under "Recorded Devices" is what is licensed to record.
