Are Amethyst recordings encrypted?

Postby Leon van Heerden » Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:08 pm

All the recordings that are made with Amethyst are encrypted at source. This means the moment the recording is completed, the file is encrypted using a 256Bit Blowfish encryption. The file is also check-summed using MD5 and SHA256 to allow checks for possible tampering.

All the recording methods does this:
  • USBClient
  • Card server ( Analogue Radios,Trunks and Extensions; Digital Extensions; BRI, PRI)
  • VoIP recorder
  • Asterisk interface
  • Mitel CRE

Amethyst de-crypts a copy of the recording and makes that available for playing through the Supervisor interface.
