The network:
Make sure that the network is up. Ping the server from the
supervisor PC. ALSO SEE: How to PING a computer?
If the network is very slow, the request can also time out.
Get the IT department to fix these network related problems.
AMETHYST:
Ensure that your database, server,
supervisor and USBClients/SLVRs have version
numbers of 1.4 upwards. If any of these are
1.3 version numbers. Amethyst won't function
correctly.
Check the AMTServer log file for errors.
e.g. "field X missing"
Restart the AMTServer.
