amtlisten: search error: operation not applicable

Postby Belinda Frick » Fri Aug 23, 2013 1:09 pm

I can extract my database in amtlisten, but when I do a search it gives me a popup message

search error: operation not applicable

Try the following:

  1. One of possibility is that the 'midas.dll' is not registered. It is supposed to register automatically, but if the user doesn't have rights, this may fail.

    • Close AMTListen and delete database.
    • Open a Windows command prompt.
    • Manually register it by running the following command:
      regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Datatex\Amethyst\midas.dll"
    • Run AMTListen.
    • Extract Database.
    • Run search.
  2. The second possibility is that the Firebird cannot read the database.

Apparently AMTListen doesn't use embedded firebird, but requires a Firebird server to be installed.

Try uninstalling Firebird, and installing a newer version. Version 2.5.1 would be best, as this is the same version we use on Amethyst.

NOTE: if the Amethyst is 64-bit, the PC using AMTListen must be 64-bit as well.
