CRITICAL ERROR: Memory usage

Postby Leon van Heerden » Fri Sep 25, 2015 8:52 am

The Amethyst system is hard coded to report any process that uses more than 2 Gig of ram.
This is what the error looks like.
Code: Select all
Version [1.6.5.20] ******Critical Errors sent to admin@client_name_here.co.za, helpdesk@client_name_here.co.za *******
Version [1.6.5.20] [2015-09-21 22:51:12]  Version [1.6.5.17] WARNING: /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver is using 2058 MB of memory
Version [1.6.5.20]
Version [1.6.5.20] ******End Critical Section*******

Unless there is another error that also reports that the system is running low on memory, this error can be used as a warning.

The specific Critical error shows that the Firebird database was using more than 2 Gig of RAM during the Archive process. Since the system is busy making a backup of the database during this time, the database engine was using a lot of ram, but it never reported that the system ran out of memory and it doesn't report this error during the day.
