Setting up backups in Amethyst 1.5

Overview:

Each time the backup is performed all calls in the database
that was not backed up with the previous run, will be backed
up.

Options:

Backup to removable harddrive
Log into the Amethyst webadmin.
On the Server settings screen, click on the Configure backup settings link.
Select Harddrive from the Backup type listbox.
Click on the Apply changes button to save the setting.

Backup to network location with NFS
Log into the Amethyst webadmin.
On the Server settings screen, click on the Configure backup settings link.
Select NFS from the Backup type listbox.
Enter the IP address of the server to backup onto.
Enter a directory for the backups to be saved.
Click on the Apply changes button to save the settings.

Software:
On Microsoft Windows,
use the NFS server installed with Microsoft Services For Unix.

On Unix / Linux,
there is an NFS server included in most Linux distributions.

Both are fine for Amethyst. Both are freely available. Microsoft
Services For Unix is available for download from Microsoft's web site.

Hardware:
Use the removable HDD option, as the external USB drive option is
not available.
