General
Amethyst will always default to a NON site licence mode.
This will accommodate upgrades from previous versions, before the site licences.
When using a site licence, all configured calls will be recorded.
But there must be licences for at least 80% of the extensions.
e.g. 320 licences can record up to 400 extensions.
The minimum number of seats to buy before a site licence can be issued is 300.
Configuration
Previously, accepted extensions needed to be configured one at a time.
This has changed with the new inclusive / exclusive concept.
Inclusive : Is a list or range of extensions that you want to record.
A recording that does not comply with one of these rules will not be recorded.
Exclusive : Is a list or range of extensions that you do NOT want to record.
These rules take place after the inclusive rules, so if a recording was inclusive, it can still
be exclusive and rejected.
To view this configuration screen, go to the licence screen
and click on the button called Configure extension rules
There can be a mixture of inclusive and exclusive rules in one installation.
Click on the images named Inclusive and Exclusive to switch between the types.
Rules
There are 3 different types of rules.
Range selection : Extensions starting from the first value up to the second value will
be excepted.
Wildcard selection :Use a * to indicate a wildcard character. The * is a place holder for any
value. Remember that the length of the configured value and the actual value must be the same.
Individual selection : This is a one on one basis where you configure individual extensions.
These 3 rules are for inclusive and exclusive and can be mixed in any way.
Because there can be overlapping rules for inclusive and exclusive, the 3 rules have
different priorities.
The most important rules is the individual selections.
Second is the range selections and lastly the wildcard selections.
Examples
Nr. Inclusive Exclusive 1. 3*** 3111-3112 2. 3111-3112 3* 3. 3115 3111-3118
Behavior
1. The entire 3000 range will be included, except 3111 and 3112,
because the range rule is more important than the wildcard rule.
2. Only 3111 and 3112 will be excepted. The rest of the 3000 range will be rejected.
3. 3115 will be included and the extensions 3111 to 3114 and 3116 to 3118 will be rejected,
because the individual rule is more important than the range rule.
Click on the Apply Changes button to commit these changes.
The sweeper will restart automatically and reload the rules.
Emails
Critical emails will be sent when the licence is overrun.
This will happen for site and non-site licences.
When a normal non-site licence is overrun, an critical email is send,
and all new extensions will be rejected.
When a site licence is overrun, an critical email is sent, but NO
recordings are rejected. All recording making it through the inclusive and
exclusive rules will be excepted.
If the licence has not been extended, Amethyst will re-send the critical email
once a day until the licence is extended.
