OVERVIEW

Only recordings that have been archived will be purged, thus recordings that has not been archived
will not purge so no recordings will be lost. Always ensure that you are running on the latest versions.
Recording can be archived to the NFS drive, Harddrive or Dual.

Please check the following:

  1. Configure Archive Settings
Select the drive you want to archive to (NFS,Harddrive or Dual)
    Do a 'Test connection'
If successful, then archiving should be able to take place.

    How to configure Amethyst Archiving:

  2. In Server settings check the 'Available disk space'
Make sure archive location has enough space to backup the database and for recordings.

How do I check disk space available on AMETHYST server?
How do I check the size of my database?

  3. In Administrator -> Configure Auto Purge
    Enable 'Auto purge'
    set days to keep alive
    and 'apply changes'

To configure auto purge, please see forum post:
    Purging recording from Amethyst 1.5/1.6

Once the recordings has been archived, it will be purged tfrom the AMETHYST database according to configured days to keep alive.

Auto archive takes place each night at 21h00.
Auto purge takes place each night at 00h00 (if enabled).

If you want to start the archiving before 21h00, you can do a unscheduled archive:
AMETHYST Webadmin Home page in the 'Archiving' block, click on the 'Archive Now' link.

Once unscheduled archived completed, you can do a manual purge.
Also see: How do I know my archive/archiving was successful?

Under 'Configure Auto Purge' click on the button 'Do Manual Purge', to start the manual purge.
