How to setup Topaz and Amethyst together

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Nov 16, 2010 8:16 am

The following needs to be inplace and working:

TCP/IP Network
Amethyst Server must be up and running.
All the SLVRs must be working correctly and already be pointing to the
Amethyst Server.

Now configure the following:
Topaz
Setup -> Properties -> Network -> Tick the Amethyst Tick-box
Data -> Extensions -> Make sure that each extension's computer
name/IP has been entered in the IP Address field.

SLVR
Check the following settings in the SLVR.INI file
[SERVER]
ENABLED = 1
SENDMAIL = 1
[TOPAZ]
TOPAZIP = 192.168.10.10 {Topaz's Computer name or IP}
TOPAZPORT = 25000

Amethyst Server
Check the following settings in the AMTServer.INI file
[SMTP] {The Email Setup For Amethyst}
SMTPSERVER = 196.10.12.30 {Put the address for your mail server.}
USER = Leon {Login name for the mail server.}
ADMINEMAIL = Admin@MyMail.co.za {Email address where the mail is going to
be sent to.}

Conclusion
If all these settings are correct the following will happen:
Whenever the SLVR is started, it will send the Username of the user
currently logged in and the Computer Name to Topaz. Topaz will Update the
extensions, where that user appears and change the IP Address with the new
Computer Name.
Whenever you complete a call, Topaz will receive the call record from
your PABX. This information will then be sent to the IP address that is
linked to that extension.
On the computer where the data is sent, the SLVR will receive the data
and stop the recording that is currently taking place there. The information
will then be saved with the recording for later retrieval.
If there is no recording taking place at the time that data is received,
the SLVR will notify the Amethyst server that a call was made or received,
but there was no recording. Now the Amethyst server will send an email to
the administrator with all the call info that was sent to the SLVR.

Note
If all these settings are in place then the SILENT TIME in the SLVR can
be increased to about 40 or 60 seconds.Topaz will now use the call info to
make sure that the recordings will be stopped as soon as a phone call is
finished.
