Wiring for Amethyst/ONYXPlus BRI card recording solution

Postby John Richard Procter » Tue May 17, 2011 12:39 pm

The cable specifications:

  1. CAT 5e shielded
  2. Champ / 50 pin Amphenol RJ21X Cable

PLEASE NOTE!
  1. The Amethyst or ONYXPlus card solution is a passive solution. It is not an
in-line solution. The RJ21 cables punch in over the existing cables and
listens passively to the traffic on the lines.
  2. In the example below the RJ21 has 'T' is for transmit and 'R' is receive.
Use the colour code for 'T' and 'R' to connect the RJ45 and the Krone block. Please note that
your transmit(outer inside pair on the RJ21 and first pair on the Krone block) and receive
(inner pair on the RJ21 and second pair on the Krone block) and might be different from our
diagram. Please ajust your double jumping accordingly.
  3. When you do the punch in, the calls at that point will be cut.
  4. If the PABX goes dead then the cabling is incorrect.

The colors used to fill in the boxes are to show how the connections matchup on every cable.
