- SMTP Mail server
Configuration:
- Log into AMETHYST webadmin.
- On the HOME page select "Configure mail/sms"
- Enter the mail server IP and port, aswell as reply address
- You only need to enter the login and password if mailserver configured for it.
- Information required to send e-mails from a AMETHYST server
To test if configured correct:
Click on the test button.
Check if you receive the mail.
If not check the admin log file for clues, see examples below.

This error points to a problem with the mail settings - verify your IP,port, etc. with your mailservice provider. AMETHYST will simply use the settings provided to send the e-mail to.
[2011-07-28 11:11:01] Version [1.6.3.18]Email, error setting up IdSMTP : 5..7.1 Client was not authenticated
The SMTP (mail) server is not allowing it to send the error notification e-mail.
Make sure that the administrators can receive the critical error notification e-mails.
Check SMTP mail server settings.
