Critical e-mail: client software down

Postby Belinda Frick » Wed Sep 21, 2011 5:40 pm

The main reason for receiving "Client Software Down" emails, is that the communication between the client software and the Amethyst Server is not functioning.
E.G.
  • The client software was stopped and the Amethyst server can no longer communicate with the client.
  • The PC where the client was disconnected from the network and the communication is down.
  • The Server knows about a client that was connected to it in the past and the client is no longer running on the agents' PC.

From verison 1.6.5.13 of the Amethyst Server interface and AmtClient 1.6.5.12 a more robust keepalive method was implemented.

When using AMTClient you can get this critical e-mail as mentioned in the critical e-mail :

Code: Select all
Possible causes could be :
  PC Clients
The recording application (USBClient, SLVR or KYANITE) has been closed down.
     The PC was shut down.
     The network is down.
     Faulty network cabling.

Other causes:

  • This error could be caused by CTI devices configured on the AMETHYST server.

Please delete any agents from under 'Configure CTI Devices' that caused the critical e-mail. The email states the USername, computer Ip etc. If the client is still running on the PC, the next time it connects to the Server, it will auto populate the CTI device entry.
  • This error could be also be caused by Agents listed on the AMETHYST server's
Under Maintain Agents remove all entries. screen.

NOTE: It will re-populate the agent names that are still active
