How do I configure virtual extensions in AMETHYST?

Postby Odette Danster » Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:12 pm

Overview:

The 'Configure Virtual Extension' is automatically populated by the Windows User Login when using the USBClient recording solution. This is used to link the agent name (Windows User Login) to their virtual extension.

Note: The agent can only be logged into one extension at a time, therefore the same Windows User Login cannot be used by more than one agent at the same time.

This feature can also be used to manually link an user name to an extension (either physical or virtual).

To manually add/edit the virtual extensions:

1. Log into AMETHYST Web Administrator,

2. In the 'Agents' section, click on the 'Configure Virtual Extension' link,

3. To edit, change the extension number next to the username the 'Virtual Extension' column and click on the 'Apply Changes' button. You cannot remove a user name, just blank the extension number next to it and apply.

4. To add a user name, click on the 'Add' button and enter the details. Click 'Apply' to save.

Please Note: You cannot delete a username from this list. You can only edit the extension number associated to the username. If the username is no longer in use, you may leave the extension field blank. If another user will now be using the same extension number, add the new user name and link it to the extension number you removed from the 'old' user name.
