How do I check number of licenses available?

  • You will need access to AMETHYST webadmin, please see forum post :
How do I log into AMETHYST webadmin and supervisor?

  • Click on the 'License Manager' icon on the top row of icons. (Marked #1)
  • Next to 'Agents' it will list the total number of agent licenses. (Marked #2)
  • Next to Total number of licenses it will list the number 'Available'. (Marked #3)

    See screenshot:

Requesting extra Licenses (Costs will be involved):
  • Change the number of Agents and Supervisors to the new total that you require.
  • Click the 'Print License request' button at the botom of the page.
  • Print the page and fax it to Datatex or Save it and email it to Datatex
  • Once you have received your new Licenses, you come back to the License screen, update the number of Agents and Supervisors to the new values that you purchased.
  • Enter the new 'License Number' and 'Activation Key' and then click the 'Save License Information' button.

To see which extension are configured to record:

On the AMETHYST Main Webadmin Home page,
click on 'Configure Recorded Devices' in the 'Recording' block (Bottom right hand block).

This screen list all configured extensions:

See description of column headings:
  • Extension number - The Physical recorded device number
  • Last Recording - The last date and time a recording was loaded into Amethyst for this device
  • Active Period - The date the extension was activated and until when it was active
  • Deactivate - 'Tick to deactivate' - When you tick this box and click 'Apply Changes' the extension is deactivated. No recordings will be loaded into Amethyst for this device after this date and time. The Active Period will be updated with this date and time. Note that if you deactivate it, you cannot activate it again for 7 days. This will free up a license immediately.

Recording methodes:
  • Trunk side recording: When a recording is processed by the Amethyst Sweeper, only extensions on this list will be allowed into Amethyst. All other extensions will be rejected and kept for 5 days.
  • Extension Side: Works the same way as Trunk recording.
  • VOIP Recording: Works the same way as Trunk Recording
  • Mitel CRE recording: You must add the extension to this page first, to be able to allocate the extension to a CRE. The CRE will not record an extension if it was not added to the CRE.

At the bottom of this page you can add new extensions that must be recorded.

How do I add a new Extension:
  • Ensure that you have an available license to allow the extra extension to be added.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  • If you just want to add one extension, click on the 'Add' button. A new empty edit box will appear at the bottom of the list. Enter the extension in this edit box.
  • if you want to add a range of extensions, you can enter the start and end extensions in the empty edit boxes next to 'Add range of physical devices' and click the 'Add Range' button.
  • Click 'Apply Changes' to apply the changes to the list. the screen will reload and the extension will be listed with no 'Last recording' date.
    Duplicate entries are ignored.

NOTE: To add an extension to 'Configure Recorded Devices' only add the device as a licensed device. For this extension to have recordings, the recordings solution must be in place and recording. The device list will accept or reject recordings made.

Error Messages:
Insufficient Licenses available: You tried to add more Devices to the screen, than you have licenses.
