Configuring a Mitel IPDect base station to work with SRC

Postby Leon van Heerden » Thu Feb 02, 2012 12:07 pm

The SRC must be configured to allow SIP connections.
Login to the MSL and go to the "Connectors" configuration on your SRC.
Open the "SIP devices" section to check.

To enable it, click the "Edit" and ensure that the following settings are enabled:
SIP Connector: enabled
Forward unknown messages: true
Forward unknown headers: true
Send options keepalives: true
Set-Side Registrations expiry time: 240
ICP-Side Registrations expiry time: 900

On the Mitel IP-Dect you need to check the System Configuration.
The phones must be working with the base station before you configure the SRC. If the phones don't work with out the SRC configured, they most probably will not work with the SRC configured.

Login to the Mitel IP-Dect station with a web browser.
  1. Click on the "DECT" option on the left of the page
  2. At the top of the page, click on the "Master" option.
  3. In the "IP-PBX" section you should already have the protocol set to SIP and the IP address of the Mitel filled in.
  4. Replace the IP address of the Mitel with the IP address of the SRC.
  5. Make sure that you "Registration Time-to-live" is "180", to ensure that the phones keeps registered with the SRC.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and clock "OK". This setting will require that the base station is restarted.
  7. Click on the "RESET" option on the left of the page.
  8. Use the "Idle-Reset" option and click "OK". Once all the calls have been completed on the unit, the system will restart. The phones will be offline until the system comes up again. Then the phones will register to the Mitel through the SRC.

At this point your phones should be listed on the SRC's Devices list and the recording will work as per a normal extension.
