- In AMETHYST Supervisor on the View Agent page in the 'Cilent Software' column next to the version number it will show VAD or CTI. Check that it is in VAD mode.
How do I check if my USBClient software is running?
- On the bottom right-hand side of the screen next to the time display, you will see the purple headset icon:
NOTE: the purple headset is outlined in pink.
If the icon is not present then the service is not running and recordings cannot take place.
See forum post - USBClient 1.6 stops recording
Steps to make test calls:
- Right-click on the USBClient in the bottom right-hand corner next to the time and select 'Show'. The USBClient popup screen will now be open.
- Make a test call and keep the person on the line.
The USBClient icon (purple headset) will have a red dot if it is recording:
The USClient popup will show the 'RECORDING' button as RED and the value in the 'Duration' field will increase.
If your test call does not trigger USBClient to show that it is recording, then the VAD(Voice Activation Dection) value must be teached again .
Please see forum post - How do I teach USBClient 1.6 / ONYX2?
Once the VAD has been re-teached, do the test call again as described above. - End the test call.
It will now go into wrap-up mode. In the screenshot the duration value will stop increasing and the wrapup value will increase until set value. It will then go to zero for both duration and wrapup time. You will see all the call details for the test call made (for example telephone number, duration, recording reference number) under the 'short notes' section:
If it does not show call details like telephone number, then the call details was not received on the USBClient PC.
NOTE: minimum duration of a recording is 15 seconds. Your test call must be longer than this to save. - To check if the recording sound is correct, etc. log into Supervisor and play back the recording.

If you have one sided sound on playback, please refer to "Set the sound settings in Windows" section in forum post: Windows Sound settings for ONYX and USBClient
