Setting the trigger level on the SLVR

Sound Card Settings:
Care should be taken when setting the Windows sound card
settings. The microphone boost and +20 dB options can
cause the recordings to distort or break up. The trigger
level will be drastically affected by this setting. This
setting is usually disabled and only enabled in cases where
the recordings are very soft. Ensure that the recording
device is set to the microphone of the correct sound card
and the audio cable is plugged into the microphone port.

Handset Test:
When looking at the client software, the current vox-level
is displayed on the vox bar. The current trigger level is
indicated by a marker just above the vox bar. Whenever the
vox bar moves past the trigger level marker, a record-trigger
is generated.

If the client starts to record without the handset being
picked up, the trigger level is set too low. Move the trigger
level marker further to the right (make the trigger level higher),
until the vox bar doesn't trigger anymore.
Now pick the handset up, the vox bar should now move past the
trigger level to start recording. If it doesn't trigger, your
trigger level is set too high. Lower the trigger level until
it triggers. Now put the hand set down and the trigger level
should drop below the trigger level marker again.

Now repeat these steps until you are sure that it will start
recording when the agent picks up the handset and it will stop
when the handset is replaced.

Headset Test:
Setting the trigger level should be done the same as with a
handset except a line should be picked up and disconnected
since you don't have a handset to pick up and put down.

Setting the trigger level on the USBClient:
The default trigger level for the USBClient is 8, and the vox
level has to exceed the trigger level for two consecutive seconds
before it will start recording. The first 2 seconds of data will
be added to the beginning of the recording, so it will not be lost.
From version 1.4.0.8 the trigger level can be configured in the INI file.

Please note:
These tests can vary from PC to PC and phone to phone. This
means that you will have to check each PC individually. If
default values are used to install all the stations, every
station still has to be checked to ensure that the settings
are working correctly.
