Issue:
I am using trunk side recordings with a Samsung 7400 PABX. Call details is collected with Windows SMDRLink version 1.6.3.2.
Overview:
SMDRLink connects via the network to the PABX IP and port. Recordings is done per trunk. The trunk number from the call details is used to tie it to the recording. If no call details is received all recordings will have an EXT extension number.
Critical e-mail warning will be sent "Warning: 10 consecutive "EXT" recordings processed" after first 10 recordings with no SMDR. Once call details is received again message will be sent "Information: consecutive "EXT" recordings are no longer being processed." that it has recovered.
Explained:
Keep alive setting:
If the ‘keep alive’ is disabled and then TCP connection is not correctly closed, SMDRLink will do nothing. It will not try and reconnect. The Keep alive sends a packet to the report port to check if it is up, but this can cause issues on the remote port. That is why we suggested to disable it.
PABX disconnects:
If the connection is properly closed ( E.g. PBX is shut down or the PABX disconnects SMDRLINK ) then SMDRLink sees the connection go away and will try and reconnect.
Network down:
If the switch is just reset, the SMDRLink doesn’t know the connection has been dropped and will never try and reconnect. SMDRLink service must then be manually stopped/started to re-connect.
