How do I change the live listen port in AMETHYST webadmin?

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Nov 18, 2010 8:52 am

Active listening is only available for use with USBClient or AMTClient(extension or
trunk recording card solutions).

Global Supervisor active listening port:

Log into AMETHYST webadmin.
Click on the 'Configure Supervisors' link.
Enter the 'listening port', default is 3085.

Per Agent setting for active listening port:

USBClient:
This setting cannot be changed from AMETHYST webadmin, it must be configured
in the USBClient.ini.

For the agent in question you need to configure the port in the USBClient.ini.
The 'ACTIVELISTENPORT' is 3085 by default and must match the
general setting, 'listening port' setup, for 'Configure Supervisors'.

The USBClient.ini is located in 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\USBClient'.
USBClient.ini:
[SETTINGS]
ACTIVELISTENPORT=3085

You need to stop the USBClient to make changes to the USBClient.ini and save it.
Once you restart USBClient the changes will take effect.

AMTClient:
For each Cardserver only one supervisor at a time can do live listening.

Live listen will only be possible if the audio port of the recording
cards on the Cardserver is configured to use the 'Datatex audio cable',
which will allow audio streaming from the Cardserver and enable the
supervisor to do a live listen. Connect the cable from the card's audio
port to soundcard microphone port.

Please note: The DP recording card does not have a audio port. Live
listen is only possible with the NGX and LD card.

You need to run a service called AMTCListen.

Please note:

When using Windows XP make sure that USBClient/AMTClient is listed under
'[Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exception]'. If not please add.
Make sure that the port number matches that which is configured as explained above.
If a proxy is used then the AMETHYST server must be allowed.
