How do I export a selection of recordings from AMETHYST?

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:42 pm

I want to download/export/ftp more than one recording from AMETHYST Supervisor, is this possible?

Requirements:

  • AMETHYST 1.6.1 onwards.
  • A working FTP location with a login and password. Install a ftp server.

Configuration:

The Supervisor needs to be configured in AMETHYST Webadmin with a FTP login.
If this is configured, then the Supervisor will have the 'EXPORT RECORDINGS' button on the 'Search Recordings' screen.

  • To configure FTP export login to the Amethyst Webadmin.
  • Click on the Configure Supervisor
  • Select the Supervisor that you want to give this facility too
  • On the Configuration screen, you enter the FTP settings
      FTP host:
      FTP login:
      FTP password:
NOTE: your 'FTP host' name must not contain characters like '/' or ':'. If you use a http location you only enter the address(without the 'http://').

The FTP facility must be up and running for this feature to function properly.
You can ask your IT department to assist you to configure an FTP server.

  • Login to the Amethyst Supervisor using the Supervisor login you modified above.
  • Go to the 'Search Recordings' screen, you enter your selection criteria and search.
  • To export the result in .wav format, click on the ''EXPORT RECORDINGS'.'
button. (It should be the last button, all the way on the right - if you mouse over it will display 'Export recordings of search result FTP'.)

  • You will get a popup that list the number of recordings to be ftp-ed, click on OK:

NOTE: The red line is the ftp location, please check that this does not contain characters like '/' or ':'. If so, the ftp will be unsuccessfull.
The recordings will be exported to the FTP location. The files are now normal WAV format that can be played back with any media player like Windows Media Player.

Please note:

Security of recordings is the responsibility of the AMETHYST client.

To give the Supervisor access to export the recordings, it must be configured in AMETHYST Webadmin(first level of security). The recordings can only ftp to this configured location (second level of security). The Supervisor must secure their login to prevent unauthorized use of the export option (third level of security).
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

NOTE:
If there is a 0 byte file created your firewall is blocking the file transfer.
Allow service FTP through the advance firewall.
