AMETHYST 1.6: Configure Recorded Devices explained

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:51 pm

The Concept
The Configure Recorded Device list is contains a unique list of all the recording devices that Amethyst will process into the database. This directly matches the amount of agent licenses your Amethyst has.
Amethyst treats the following as "Devices":
  • Physical extension number on a host desk environment.
  • Extension number linked to an extensions side card server recording channel.
  • Static IP Extension.

Agent Codes/ACD logins that log into these physical extensions are used for searching, but not for this recorded device list. This allows multiple logins on the physical extension, but only one Recorded device configured.

In a Mitel Host desk environment, the Physical DN number is used as the Recorded device.

If the device is de-activated or not on this list, recording for that device will be rejected.
Amethyst will keep rejected recordings for 5 days and then delete them. The Amethyst Rejected log does show the details of all rejected calls. (View Logs -> Rejected)
If you do not have enough licenses to add a new device, you can either de-activate an existing device or purchase an additional license to add a new device.
De-activated devices will stay on the list for 7 days and then automatically drop off the list.

Requirements
AMETHYST webadmin 1.5 or newer.

How to access
AMETHYST 1.5
Home Page -> List of Recorded Devices
AMETHYST 1.6
In the 'RECORDING' block -> Configure Recorded Devices.

Columns explained:
Extension: The physical extension that has been configured for recording.
Last Recording: This is the date and time of the last recording processed for the relevant extension. Note that if you are re-processing old calls, it will show the last old calls' date until a new recording has been processed.
Active Period: Shows the date device was added minus 5 days. This allows calls from 5 days back to be re-processed, when adding a new device.
Deactivate: This allows you to remove an recorded device; but it will stay on the list for 7 days, nit utilizing a license. If the device has never processed a recording, the device is deleted and will not appear on the list anymore.
Please note that you can not active an device that has been de-activated and is still on this list. After 7 days when it is off the list, you can add it again.

Adding new devices

At the bottom of the page, you can click "ADD" to add once device at a time or use the range facility to add multiple sequential devices.

You will required a Amethyst Agent License for each device that you try and add. If you try and add more devices that you have licenses, an error message is displayed. Any devices that are added past this point, will be discarded when you apply.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
