(If this is the case, you will only be
allowed to use the SETUP screen in
the client TOPAZ.)
Login to Windows XP as the administrator:
1. Right-click on the TOPAZ folder, choose
Properties. On the last tab available
(Permissions) choose the users that will
use TOPAZ. Enable full access.
2. Login as the user: When creating the
shortcut on the desktop for the user,
ensure that the TARGET section
(right-click, choose Properties)
has the following path:
=== "C:\Program Files\datatex\
Topaz\Topaz.exe" "C:\Program Files\
Datatex\Topaz\Data\" CLIENT ===
If you still experience the same error you
should add the rights in the registry:
Click on: START => RUN ; Type: regedit
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
=> Datatex ; Right-click on this folder
and choose "Permissions".
Select the user account that generates
the "serial" error and add full control.
