Aristel walk in class of service with TOPAZ
This feature of TOPAZ allows the budget facility to be combined with
the walk-in-class-of-service of the Aristel AV38. This will allow you
to give a budget to a user, and once they have exceeded their budget,
their account code or extension will be disabled, preventing it
from being used to make calls.
Requirements:
An Aristel AV38 with Software for
Extensions: version SAF59 or newer
Accounts: version SAF72 or newer
TOPAZ:
Extensions: version 1.6.5.9 or newer for extensions
Accounts: version 1.7.0.7 or newer for account codes
PABX3 version 3.3.1.5 or newer
Aristel AV38 plug-in:
Extensions: version 2004.3.25.1 or newer (This version can handle 254 FAC codes)
Accounts: version 2005.6.21.1 or newer
6 wire straight through cable connecting the PABX and the PC
If FAC is used the Aristel extension barring should be
configured correctly on the switch.
Steps to follow:
Step 1:
Install TOPAZ as you would normally, selecting the new Aristel AV38
Plug-in as your PABX type. Ensure that you are receiving information
from the PABX on the PABX3 grid.
Step 2:
In the C:\Program files\Datatex\PABX3\PABX.PRF file (right-click file and
open with Notepad) find the [Aristel] Section at the bottom of the file.
The Aristel PIN codes can be entered here and the account codes are entered
next to these codes.
E.g.: 001=01987652 or 123=251111
If the account code is less than 8 digits, only enter the digits that you
are going to use or pad the right side with "d" characters.
E.g.: 001=1234 or 002=0123dddd
Step 3:
Start TOPAZ. Click on the 'Set-up' button on the left side of the
screen and then click on the 'Properties' tab at the top of the screen.
Now click on the 'Filters and Defaults' tab just below 'Properties'.
Click on the 'Budget Enabled' tick box to enable the budget facility.
At the bottom of the 'Budget' group there is an option 'CG Budget Type'.
When this option is set to 'E' the budget will be based on the extension
and when it is set to 'A' the budget will be based on the FAC code used.
Step 4:
Click on 'Data' on the left side of the window and click on 'Users'.
Set up your 'Users' and assign your budget for the user. For more
details about the budget, check the SSL related to setting up 'Budgets'.
Ensure that you associate the user with the correct extension if
you are using an extension-based budget, or with the correct account
code if you are using an account code-based budget. Once all the codes
are setup correctly, click on 'Reset All' on the
'Set-up' -> 'Properties' -> 'Filters and defaults' -> 'Budget Box'
(at the bottom of the screen.) If the FAC codes don't exist on the
PABX yet, this reset will add them.
Step 5:
TOPAZ -> SETUP -> NETWORK/FRONT OFFICE,
Tick CALL GUARD under 'Enable' column and
enter the CALL GUARD port number under the 'Port' column as "25001".
NOTE! Ensure that TOPAZ and PABX3 are always open and running to
ensure that the budgets can be updated live and extensions or FAC
codes updated.
The AV38 and DV38 up to DV96 uses the same software. Barring was only
tested on the AV38, but it should work on the rest of the range as the
barring software (and therefore barring command sent by TOPAZ) is the
same.
