PC

PLEASE NOTE:

TOPAZ uses database engine is BDE and the database structure
Paradox 7.0 32k block.

TOPAZ will not work if the BDE cannot be installed.
BDE can not be installed on a 64-bit Windows system.
BDE cannot be installed on a 16 bit Windows NT 3.5 OS.
In order to install and run TOPAZ, you will need a PC with Microsoft Windows95 or a
later version, installed with the following minimum requirements.

Screen resolution 800 X 600 with 256 colours
Memory 64 Mb RAM
Processor Pentium 4
Hard disk 500 Mb free
Serial port Com 1 or Com 2 with no conflicting devices
Pointing devices Mouse or similar
Data capture Keyboard
Install drive CD-ROM or network access to a CD-ROM

PLEASE NOTE: Although these are the minimal specifications, they are definitely
not recommended for all situations. It must be noted that in busy and larger companies
TOPAZ might need to process thousands of transactions per day or even per hour.

As TOPAZ has a major impact on the management of the telephone costs of such companies it is
important that TOPAZ can do its job in peace on an adequate computer without competing with
other applications for computer resources. We therefore strongly recommend the following
specifications.

30,000 calls per month

Memory 64 Mb RAM
Processor Pentium 4

30,000 - 50,000 calls per month (Stand alone PC)

Memory 128 Mb RAM.
Processor Pentium 4

50,000+ calls per month (Stand alone PC)

Memory 256 Mb RAM
Processor Pentium 4 or better

Any combination of the TOPAZ and RUBY (Stand alone PC)

Memory 512 Mb RAM
Processor Pentium 4 or better

You should have no problems installing and running TOPAZ if you have all the above
requirements in place.

PLEASE NOTE: In cases with larger companies that make and receive a considerable
amount of calls, it is recommended to install the TOPAZ CENTER program to archive some of
these calls to maintain and keep the database running smoothly.
ALSO SEE: How do I setup TOPAZ CENTRE?

It is also necessary to remember that when using a client version of TOPAZ or if PABX3 is on
another machine and a network connection is involved, the speed at which TOPAZ will get updated
will depend on the amount of traffic on the network and the speed of the network connection itself.
