TNG for multiple PABX units or branches

Postby Belinda Frick » Mon Nov 15, 2010 3:10 pm

Requirements:

A single TNG supports only costing of calls from one costing area.
It needs to know which is the local costing area to then be able to calculate
for example when it is a national call.

TNG can receive call details from one source:
via a Serial connection or
via Network or
via File Reader

Extension from the different PABX units/branches must not overlap.

Explained:

TNG uses a plugin to translate the call details, therefore it can only
load one format of rawdata (in other words from one PABX model set to
the same output format - as required by standard plugin).

We prefer to connect straight to the PABX unit/device. If other software
is used to collect the data and something goes wrong outside TNG, it will
influence the accuracy of TNG's reporting.

To collect data from more than one PABX/branch the following will also
work (but is not suggested):

Network
If you can collect data from your PABX units and send call data (all must
have the same format) to a network buffer which will simulate a PABX.
You can then configure TNG to connect to the network buffer (using
network option) as if it is the PABX unit.

File Reader
If you can write the PABX rawdata to one file (all must have the same format),
TNG can read the call data using the file read option.

Suggestion:

If you have branches with different PABX units and/or in different costing
areas, you need to purchase a TNG per branch.

If you want to draw reports from a 'cental' TNG (needs to be on the same network),
you will need to also purchase TNG Enterprise - best option. All call details
from your individual TNG's will be loaded into TNG Enterprise and you will
have access to all branches from TNG Enterprise.

If you do not want to purchase TNG Enterprise and you are on the same network,
you will be able to access each TNG via your browser (dependant on your own
security setup for proxy and firewalls, etc.).

Each TNG has report scheduling. If you require reports on a daily, weekly
or monthly basis you can setup the scheduling to e-mail it to you and/or required
person/s. The only time you then need to access TNG is when you want to pull
specific reports.
