Setting up Number Access Control (NAC) and Toll Restrictions

Access Control Method (ACM)

This is the method that must be used for controlling access

a) NONE - No access control is implemented (default).
b) ALLOW - Allow calls to numbers in the ACL's
c) DENY - Deny calls to numbers in the ACL's

Access Control List (ACL)

These are the lists with numbers and destinations that are used for controlling
the access.

a) [ACL ALL] - This is the global generic list
b) [ACL 101] - This is a list specific to extension 101.

Setup

In the emerald.ini file under the [DIALSERVER] section create an entry
for

ACCESSMETHOD=NONE

Create a new section called

[ACL ALL]

with all your numbers and destinations e.g.

0215924033=DATATEX
082=VODACOM
083=MTN

If the Access Method is ALLOW all calls to the number above will be allowed.
Calls to any other number will be denied. If the Access Method is DENY all calls
to the numbers above will be denied. All other calls will be allowed.

You can also create an Access Control List for each extension. Numbers in
extension ACL's are complimentary to the generic ACL.

Notes

a) The Access Control Method is exclusive, in other words only one method can be
selected for all ACL lists..
b) Using long lists in extension ACL's will slow the system down substantially.
We strongly recommend that you use the global generic [ACL ALL] list wherever is
possible.
c) You will be able to maintain the generic ACL list from within TOPAZ as from
Ver 1.5.0.5. This will be done on the Numbers table (Master.db).
d) Emerald must be running for this facility to work.
e) Restrictions may not work on extensions outside the main cab.
