ONYX does not stop recording

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Dec 09, 2010 2:24 pm

[Note: Update to version 1.0.0.3]

At the top, right-hand corner is a green,
recording light. If this is red, it means
ONYX is still recording.

The recording only stops AFTER the SILENCE
time was reached. So it may seem to you as
if ONYX does not stop recording at the
right time, because your SILENCE time
counter is still incrementing.

You can change this setting yourself.
As well as the wrapup time (when you are
suppose to type notes etc.)

Simply go to the "SETTINGS" tab =>
"Stop recording after X seconds" and
"Start typing notes within X seconds after
recording stopped".

Please note: You cannot set the silence and wrapup time:

If you are in manual recording
Or if you are busy making a recording.
Remember to Click on the "Save Settings"
button in the bottom right corner after
changing these settings.
Alternative Options:

1. When using USB taps Remove the USB tap
from your telephone & PC. Now insert it again
by first connecting it to the telephone,
and then inserting it into your USB port.

2. It might be that the USB taps are picking up
external noises due to the fact that your tap is
either too sensitive or your environment has a
louder noise frequency than the default trigger
level. Try setting the "Trigger-level" to a
higher number:

C:\Program Files\Datatex\Onyx

Open the ONYX.ini file with Notepad and reset
the "TRIGGERLEVEL". (Its default is 8.)

Before changing the triggerlevel please inform
us as this is not the preferred solution to
this problem.

(The usb taps might be faulty - a constant "buzzing"
sound which prevents the tap from reaching a level
of silence. If you suspect this is the problem,
e-mail us a test recording.)

NOTE:

This problem seems to be fixed in
ONYX Version 1.0.0.3
