The TNG service is still listed under services, but the TNG folder does not have the tng.exe file or the TNG folder does not exist. This can happen if:
- TNG was uninstalled by deleting the tng folder and not using the 'unins000.exe' file in the tng folder or
- anti-virus software removed the tng.exe or
NOTE: Please configure Anti-virus sotware to allow the tng.exe (setting may vary depending on what type of anti-virus software is being used). - Windows prevents you from uninstalling the TNG service
Steps:
- You need the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng' with the 'tng.exe' in it. If you have a backup of the TNG folder you can restore it, else
- Create the folder:
C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng - Paste the file tng.exe in this folder.
NOTE: Please use the actual 'tng.exe'. You can get the file from a old tng folder or see forum post for 'tng.exe' to download: When I start the tng service, I get a time out error
- Create the folder:
- If you want to uninstall the TNG service:
- Then follow the steps listed below as per screenshot:
- Open the dos command prompt.
- cd C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng
- tng.exe -uninstall
NOTE: This command will only uninstall the TNG service. It will leave the TNG folder as is.
- Then follow the steps listed below as per screenshot:
- If you need to uninstall TNG:
- When removing tng use the add remove application in control panel
- Or you can use the uninstall app in the tng folder
Please use the 'Uninstall.exe' and not the 'uninstall.dat'.
