message. If the serial number and expiry date is blank, then it is not
registered.
Please note:
- The update must be run on the TNG server (PC on which the TNG services is
installed). - The update file must be associated to the "ExtractUpdate"
program in the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng\update'.- Save the update file on the desktop.
- Right-click on the file and select 'open'.
- You will get a popup with the message "Windows cannot open this file". It
will also display "What do you want to do"?. Tick the option "Select the
program from a list" and the "OK". - It will now display a "Open With" dialog box. Click on the
"ExtractUpdate" from the list and tick "Always use this selected program to
open this kind of file". There is also a "Browse" option if "ExtractUpdate"
is not listed. Browse to 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng\update'. - Once the update file, for example "TNG_za_1.0.5.1_Update.dtx", is associated with
"ExtractUpdate", it will execute the update process.
- When the update is run it will create a log file in the extract folder,
for example in the folder path 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng\update\extracted\20080108103648'.
Please check the log file to clues. - If the update file is corrupted, for example it did not complete the download
when e-mailed it could cause errors. Find the original update file.
