Yes, you can run the rates update from the internet,
but you also need to upgrade the TOPAZ version you are running.
Your TOPAZ 1.0.2.19 is a much earlier version and a lot of changes
has been made since your release.
Steps to follow:
- Download the update from http://www.datatex.co.za -> DOWNLOADS ->
Choose TOPAZ section. Make sure that the update includes the new
TOPAZ version as well as the rates update for your country. - Close the Master TOPAZ, ensure no TOPAZ is running
in the background and there are no Client TOPAZ's running. - Run the upgrade.
- Open TOPAZ
When you now run TOPAZ the following might happen:
- Your Password for the TOPAZ login might be reset.
Please contact your dealer for a temporary password
(which will be valid for one day) for the ADMIN login,
so thant you can change the password to one of your choice.
To change the password in TOPAZ -> SETUP -> PROPERTIES -> ACCESS CONTROL
There are 3 logins:
ADMIN = rights to access all
MAINTENANCE = Maintaine User Details and pull Reports
REPORTS = Allow only access to work with reports. - When you login you will get error messages as the database is being
upgraded to the internet version. Click on ABORT for all error messages.

To Upgrade to PABX3 follow these steps:
- Open your current PABX interface and write down your Communications
settings and PABX type. - www.datatex.co.za -> DOWNLOADS -> Choose TOPAZ section and
download PABX3 Reference Update. - Also download the correct plugin and profile from the downloads
page and save them in the same folder ( e.g. your "My Documents" folder) - Right-click on the white telephone in the right-hand bottom corner
of your screen to close the Topaz PABX program. - Take the shortcut out of the Startup.
- Run the upgrade you downloaded.
- Open PABX3
- Click on "Select PABX" at the top of the screen and go to the folder
where you saved the Plugin and Profile. Select the Profile. - Change your communictions settings to what you wrote down.
- Remember to put a shortcut in the startup for the PABX3
