Installation of Amethyst

Amethyst
On the CD there is a self extracting file in the amethyst folder :
Amethyst.FullServer.Install-**.exe
This will install all the amethyst software.
Run this file to extract all the files.
This file will extract all the files to the following location:
C:\Program files\Datatex\Amethyst\ (This is the INSTALLATION FOLDER)

PLEASE NOTE Do NOT use this file to upgrade an Amethyst installation.


Guild FTP *** Datatex does not recommend using Guild FTP ***
In Installation Folder, there is a Folder called SHARE, where you will find the
GuildFTPd installation file. Run the file. The default settings for
installation is correct. Once installed, open GuildFTPd.
Delete the default group and user.
Click on "System" on the left. Then on the right hand side, click on the
"Options" tab. (The bottom window). Right click on entry that is listed there and
select the "Edit Path". Click on the "Browse" button net to "Local Path" and go to
the Installation Folder and then in there to the "Temp" folder.

Add a new group named 'amethyst'.
Add a new user named 'amethyst' with the password 'amt' and give it write
permitions and removed the read permissions.
On the user change the local path to the temp directory in the amethyst folder and
the virtual path to '/'.

SLVR
The SLVR gets installed on the PC's where the agent is that is being recorded.
In the amethyst folder on the CD there is a Amethyst.SLVR.Install.**.exe
This will extract the software to the correct locations. In the SLVR.ini you have
to change the extension and the IP address aof the server. Save settings and
start SLVR. Put the SLVR in the startup of the PC and make sure it records.

Topaz
Setup the extensions in Topaz that are being recorded. On the extensions tab fill
in the IP address of the agents. This is in Topaz Under DATA > EXTENSIONS.
