Try the following:
To check if the PABX Unit is sending off data.
Remove the Buffer. Connect the PC to the PABX Unit, using the
same cables as with the buffer, plug them into each other.
Get PABX3 to receive data with this setup. Once this is
working, connect the Buffer.
Default PABX3 Settings are:
Baud Rate : 9600
Length : 8
Parity : NONE
Stop Bits : 1
ALSO SEE:I get "garbage" in VT100 in PABX3 or no data.
Connection:
- Sending/Receiving data:
The Buffer must be connected to the PABX Unit, to receive data.
Pin 4 and pin 7 must be connected.
The Buffer must be connected to the PC, to send data.
ALSO SEE:Changing baudrate settings after inserting a buffer. - Lights on the buffer:
The buffer must have power to work.
Check if the lights are on.
If the "Heartbeat" light flashed, it is live. - When the buffer receives data, DTR will flash.
If not it is not receiving data. - When the buffer is full and have no more memory and
therefore discard calls, BTR will flash.
Buffer Settings: - To list Buffer settings: In PABX3 -> VT100, type "/Q", the press enter.
- Code: Select all
Normal Buffer Settings are:

Test Mode : 0
Baud Rate : 9600
Length : 8
Parity : NONE
Stop Bits : 1
DTR : 1
PC Baud Rate : 9600
PC Stop Bits : 1
Please note that:
- The Buffer must receive the data at the
rate that it is being send by the PABX Unit (Baud Rate). - The Buffer must send the data at the rate that the PC
is receiving it (PC Baud Rate).
