TOPAZ setup for client with branches

TOPAZ setup for client with branches in the same rate zone via there network.

Yes, if the 2 branches uses the same rates you can load the
data from both PABXs into the same TOPAZ.

Required:

  1. Network in place between Branch A and Branch B.
  2. One TOPAZ
  3. Run 3 PABX3s.
  4. Extension needs to be identified for Branch A or Branch B
    (the same applies to account codes).
  5. If overlapping extensions are used, an extensions prefix can be
    used on each site to uniquely identify each extension.

    Why do we need 3 PABX3s?

  1. PABX3 nr 1(local to TOPAZ):
    The PABX3 at Branch A will create the file pabx.pip
    in the location C:\Program Files\Datatex\PABX3\ for TOPAZ to
    import the calls for Branch A.
  2. PABX3 nr 2:
    The PABX3 at Branch B collect the calldata from the PABX Unit
    and save it to C:\program files\Datatex\PABX3\Data\PABX.pip at
    Branch B. This DATA folder must be shared for access from Branch A
    via the network.
  3. PABX3 nr 3:
    The second PABX3 at Branch A will pick the PABX.PIP file from the
    Data folder at Branch B over the network. The Plugin used
    with this PABX3 must be the TopazPipe.dll.

Procedure:

    Branch A:

  1. Do a normal installation of TOPAZ (and PABX3) at the Branch A.

    PABX3-> General-> Extension Prefix-> Enter a prefix to differenciate
    between Branch A from Branch B.
  2. Now copy the pabx3 folder to another folder and create a shortcut
    for it in the startup.
  3. Go to Options -> File Input and enable it.
  4. Select the input file as the PABX.PIP file at Branch B.
    The input interval can be made 60 minutes or more.

ALSO SEE:Setting up file input on the pabx3
Use the plugin named: TopazPipe.dll

  • Branch B:

  1. Create a folder C:\Program files\Datatex\PABX3 and copy PABX3.exe
    in this folder.
  2. Create a folder "DATA" and share this so that Branch A can access it.
  3. Run PABX3, click on "Select PABX", navigate to your CD\PABX3\Profiles
    and select your PABX.
  4. Go to Options -> File Paths and change the PABX.pip location to save it's
    data to the pabx3\Data folder.

    PABX3-> General-> Extension Prefix-> Enter a prefix to differenciate
    between Branch A from Branch B.

Note: If the PABX3 collecting data from the PABX is not on the TOPAZ PC,
then you need a PABX3 on the TOPAZ PC for each PABX to collect the call details
from a shared location on the PC with PABX3 that is collect the rawdata direct
from the PABX.
