Zones to use for TNG and Custom rates

Postby Belinda Frick » Mon May 14, 2012 11:22 am

To setup Custom rates for Local, national and cellular the following zones is usually used(Telkom zones):

Zone A – local
Zone B – long distance
M3 – MTN
M2 – VodaCOM
M4 – CellC

NOTE: If no ratebook is available for your service provider (see switchboard number to determine service provider), then you will have trouble determining the zones to setup the custom rates. You will need to request setup of custom ratebook from Datatex.

To setup custom rates see forum post:

When using the Custom Rates only the zones specified in your custom ratebook will be costed.

We've added a feature where you can configure a 'custom default rate'. All zones not specified in your custom ratebook will then be costed at the default rate.

Requirements:

  • The ratebook 'All_Custom.dll'.
    all_custom.rar
    Unrar to find .dll file.
    NOTE: For Asterisk on the Linux server you will need the 'All_Custom.so' file.
  • This ratebook is meant to work with TNG versions 1.1.1.x.
    Upgrading from TNG(with buffer) 1.0.7.6 to TNG 1.1.1.7
  • To load this ratebook your TNG subscription must not expire before 20120801.

Configuration:

Save the Custom dll in the folder C:\Program Files\Datatex\TNG\rates\custombase.

You can now use a wildcard zone, using "*' as the zone, to cover any zones not provided in the custom rate book:

NOTE: rates used in the screenshot is just an example and you have to configure your custom rates according to your own requirements.

The zones are as follows:
A = local (based on Telkom numbers)
B = national (based on Telkom numbers)
M1 = 8ta
M2 = Vodacom
M3 = MTN
M4 = Cell C
VL = Internet Solutions numbers

For example:
Phoning to a local Telkom number will be zone "A".
Phoning to a national Telkom number will be zone "B".
Phoning to any Internet Solutions number in South Africa will be zone "VL".
Phoning the various cellphone providers will be "M1", "M2", "M3", or "M4".
