TNG as an Billing System

Postby AndrewS » Wed Oct 31, 2012 9:43 pm

Dear Datatex

Is it possible for the TNG TMS to be used as an billing device where you use custom rate book as your billing rates . We would like to use the TNG as an billing device , however we are having some problems with the custom ratebook .

Also if we can use the TNG as an Billing system is it possible to get the billing exchange zones for custom ratebook ?

Thanking you in advance

  • Each service provider has their own 'exchange' file to determine if a call is local, national, international, etc. You need to use the ratebook for the service provider as basis for creating your own custom ratebook. Once you have selected this ratebook and configured your TNG(area information) accordingly you can setup the custom ratebook. For custom ratebook configuration see forum post: TNG Custom Rate Configuration and Format

Note that our custom ratebook also have a feature where you can use a default cost for all zones not specified - see forum post: Re: Zones to use for TNG and Custom rates

For zones, please see forum post:
Zones to use for TNG and Custom rates

  • If you just want to do a markup on the existing rates. You can select one of the standard ratebooks as your default ratebook and then configure the markup - see forum post: Can I add a Markup in TNG?

NOTE: Markup is done as percentage on selected ratebook and is per department.

I cannot open your '.txt' file. I would suggest to 'rar' it.

Also see: How do I download/copy a custom ratebook to create another?

Dear Andrew

Currently, TNG does not have a ratebook for your service provider.

To setup a ratebook for your service provider, we will require the follow information - refer to forum post:

What is the requirements to setup TNG rates for my country?

Please note the we did a test on the Telkom website with their Cost Calculator and the switchboard number with the prefix (010)000- is an invalid destination, but the switchboard number starting with '087' is valid.

Kind Regards
Odette
