How many screenshot is taken per recording and for how many recordings is configurable and this configuration will influence the space used.
Our recordings take approximately 6 MB per hour of recording.
The screenshots at 30 second intervals takes approximately the same (50 KB per screenshot on average * 2 per minute * 60 minutes = 6000 KB).
This means if you take screenshots for each recording made at an interval of 30 seconds, you double the space used to store the recordings and screenshots. This calculation is for average size of screenshots as explained in calculation above.
Keep in mind the factors that can influence the space used by screenshots. The screenshot size will be different for each screenshot:
- Screenshots with large areas of the same colour or just text (e.g. e-mail, text editors, spreadsheets, word documents, icons, etc.) compress well.
- Screenshots of photos, photographic backgrounds, etc. do not compress well.
You also have the option to set screenshots for every second, third, etc. recording made per AMTClient user. This will reduce the space used by screenshots. This is configured in AMETHYST webadmin under 'Configure CTI Devices' with the settings options 'CBS' or 'CNS'.
